13th September – Lepton Highlanders - away - Friendly
Our final pre-season friendly, was a game of four 15 minute quarters, against a combined A & B team at Lepton. Scissett started very slowly in the 1st Q, we had our share of possession but often wasted the final pass. Lepton, playing a very strong 7, went into the break 2-0 up. The 2nd Q was a very close affair, although Scissett pulled one back with well delivered corner from Ben being deflected in for an OG by a Lepton defender. Q3 was again fairly even, but Scissett pulled the game back to 2-2 with a goal by Tom, latching onto a wayward clearance by their goalie and hitting a lovely dipping shot from distance.
Lepton went 3-2 ahead early in Q4 before Scissett finally stepped things up a gear and dominated the rest of the game, playing some excellent passing football they went on to win 3-9.
